What's the price of land like in the rural areas? Buying some land and setting up a shooting range should be no problem with so few trees to get in the way.

Only problem with buying land up there would be the mineral rights.
To get them could cost a mint and without them you may have to contend with
an oil well in the middle of your range. :(

Lessons learned.

The Montana match date was selected purposely for weekend following the Alberta Shoot. The reasoning that shooters would be able to make the long trip to the area attend two shoots and tour the area. Only one shooter took advantage off that idea. In reality having back to back shoots probably made it more difficult for those in the area to attend. Next year if there is a Montana shoot...that's a big if, it will not be a back to back. Most likely it will be in August. That will give us a breather between matches.
