Sad day in Germany, school shooting

Post by awo425 » Wed Mar 11, 2009 11:35 am

Today was a black day for us in Germany.
A 17years old kid stole a pistol from his dad and killed innocent people in a school and in a city nearby, were he was killed in a shootout with the police in a supermarket.
His dad owned the weapon legaly, but did not store them according to the law.
So we will face now realy hard times here, some alreday want to ban all guns in private hands.

We went through that in the UK when they banned hand guns here It is a nightmare overnight you are branded and treated like a criminal because you legally own handguns.
I still havent forgiven or forgotten the goverment for what they did.

I recall seeing a UK paper 3 years or so after handgun ownership was banned that said:
"It's Official-Crime Rate in UK Twice that of US"
A theme that occurs frequntly in history is government using a "terrorist" act to curtail freedoms.

But didn't the political vermin swear black's white that banning handguns would put and end to gun crime?
As with many laws, it's a case of all actions short of actually dealing with the problem.

Apologies for the thread drift.
