I had just bought a Siamese Type 47 Carbine a week ago for a great price and when I received it today via the Post Office ... guess what ? ... they broke the stock at the wrist. The weapon was well packaged with bubble wrap and newspaper but it looks like someone just tossed it around not caring. I am going to PO tomorrow to complain.
I am going to have it repaired by Lee (candyman) who is on surplusrifleforum and does miracles with broken or cracked wood. I have seen his work and I bet when he gets done with it you will not be able to tell it was broken at all.
Here is a picture of the weapon before the break

Re: Type 47 Siamese ... broken stock
Patrick, maybe this will help you claim from the Post Office? There is no sign of any break on the 'tweeked' picture that you bought it from. Looking at the image, the damaged area by the rear sight shows up but nothing else. Hope this helps mate.
