Ammo cases

Post by Niner » Sat Jun 06, 2009 1:33 pm

Remember when you could buy 303 surplus in case lots? Remember when you could actually find surplus 303 for a cheap price....and it wasn't crap? Well....I was cleaning out the garage storage area the other day and found this empty 303 case. Looks like it was made in 1945. Wood with metal strips on the bottom edges. Has nice plywood construction. Wire lock downs on the end and a handle that comes apart to lift the lid. Real quaint compaired to the metal US ammo tins. Also for 288 rounds a bit bulky. Compare to the 30.06 can that would carry 400 rounds or the even smaller 200 round Nato 7.62 can.

Sure beats the Russian spam cans though.
