The state of Washington has some new gun laws

Post by Niner » Tue Feb 12, 2019 10:53 pm

The gun laws on semi auto rifles has caused some uproar among county sheriffs who don't want to enforce the law until there has been a chance for the Supreme Court to rule on the validity of the entire set of rules. From the AP:

"SPOKANE, Wash. (AP) — Sheriffs in a dozen Washington counties say they won’t enforce the state’s sweeping new restrictions on semi-automatic rifles until the courts decide whether they are constitutional.

A statewide initiative approved by voters in November raised the minimum age for buying semi-automatic rifles from 18 to 21, required buyers to first pass a firearms safety course and added expanded background checks and gun storage requirements, among other things. It was among the most comprehensive of a string of state-level gun-control measures enacted in the U.S. after last year’s shooting at a Florida high school."

The problem here is that the damn liberals in the Seattle area and the state government have
ruined this state. The governor and attorney general are 2 of the worst.
Between the liberals and the scare tactics, they managed to get an initiative passed that makes this
one of the worst states for gun owners.
One of the main things that the Sheriffs balk at is that the initiative is not clear on exactly what makes it a
semi-automatic rifle, the way it is written, even my JC Higgins .22 could not be bought.
And until that is decided, it is business as usual in some counties.
As of Jan 1st, the only restriction that went into effect was the age limit on semi rifles, all the rest of the
crap like gun storage doesn't go into effect until July 1st. Mostly everyone here is waiting for the results
of the many court cases that have been filed by several pro gun organizations.
So we are just waiting..... :(

Peace is that brief, quiet moment in history.......... when everybody stands around reloading.
