The Sullivan Law

Post by Niner » Sun Jan 06, 2013 5:40 pm

Saw this story in a hundred year old New York Newspaper. Seems a guy was challenging the Sullivan Law in New York that prohibited handguns....even if just held as home protection. He invited a policeman in and showed him the gun for the sake of challenging it in court.

See the "Weapons law ruling protested by judge of trial court".

But....it seems that Sullivan, the New York Tammany Hall politician who promoted the law was himself not above the law and actually created it for the benefit of gangsters that supported his district political strength.
