Bacon & Egg banjo's

Post by DuncaninFrance » Sun Jan 14, 2018 5:27 pm

I have been trying to find some proper bread cakes to have bacon & egg banjo's on for some time now.
I eventually asked the local baker if he would make some from the same mix as a small flat loaf he produces.
I ordered 30 on Friday and collected them on Saturday - perfect.
I put 14 in our deep freeze and a friend had the other 15. Total cost for the 30 - €9 / £8 / $11

What's the bun like that makes it special? What's the texture like? English muffin? Hamburger bun? Two pancakes? Two soft tacos?

British :GBR: brown sauce is optional Vern!
These bead cakes have the right texture for bacon.....the right consistency to allow the juices to be absorbed into the bread, that's why I like em so much.
Having them made for me means they are the right size and no bloody seeds to get under your teeth
