Recommendations for entry level trap gun?

Post by NLMosin » Fri May 08, 2015 11:56 am

I was watching some auctions for an entry level O/U shotgun to shoot trap. I have never done it before but there is a local club that does Open to the Public trap on Tuesday nights...thinking about giving it a try. I had a bid on a Beretta AL390 silver mallard but it sold too high for my blood.

Any one have any suggestions? thanks!

When I shot clays here I had a Miroku then a Benelli Auto but years ago in the UK I shot a Franchie lightweight which I loved.
Best bet is go and try some out first..................

I dont think this club has any 'hired out' guns. I figured I'd get a semi with a 28" barrel and different choke tubes and start there. If I get any good at it I can switch to an U/O..or is it a O/U? Never get that straight. Then if I get really good I'll go the pump route.....I love to read the posts around the web with guys going on and on about, "if you cant hit two clays with a pump stay home". :roll:

I'm crap at clay shooting I keep trying to aim at the clay. That's not the way to do it clay busting is completely different to rifle shooting. Its good fun though. Go for it.

You were not to shabby at that either you never know you might just have a natural talent for it. Just make sure its well tucked into your shoulder its nothing like WAW recoil hurts. :lol: REKOIL wasn't that a game. We are about to embark on a WAW run and gun map its going to be a joint venture. Could be interesting. We just finished a COD4 group build. :mrgreen:

WAW=World at war.
cod4 = Call of duty version 4. They are both on line war games played by people of all ages all over the World.

Like Nick said you sit at your computer and kill every one in sight with every gun imaginable. Whilst sloshing back beer and sarnies and chatting to your fellow team mates from all over the World.

Nothing to do with the forum or milsurps but its either that or Coronation street followed by Eastenders both of which are English TV programmes for the brain dead.
