New Project

Post by blackisler » Sun Mar 06, 2011 2:51 pm

I recently picked up a couple of old sbs sidelock hammer guns which are in need of repair [the stocks are broken on both] I can hopefully repair one stock and have just obtained another stock for the unrepairable one,
I will need a hammer for the left hand sidelock plus a few various springs plus a foreend locking plug made but the barrel and action mate up well and is tight so this may well be my first one to renovate as the barrel and action are a bit loose on the second one but I have all the parts for it so wont need to spend as much ecxept for gunsmith services to tighten action.
Will post more with pics before and after work done but envision a long term project .

Look forward to seeing the photos and hearing reports on how the restoration efforts are going.

Can't say what the problem is. Could it be a link to some photos not working? Maybe the size of the image is too large to attach?

Here is a photo as an experiment.

Unfortunately I have had to reluctantly give up on this job as it would have cost considerly more than their worth to have them restored, even more if I went down the deactivation route.

A pity, suppose you will have to nail them to the wall mate! :loco: :loco:
Of course you could always send them off to me and I could see what I can do with them
