Dromias MK VI, and myMKIV.

These pistols are held on a section 7/3 authourisation and have to be kept at a designated range.

Nice revolvers.

SHame you guys can't keep 'em at home. Much like our citizens from Chicago or Washington DC. :(

My Mark VI

Post by PeterN2 » Wed Jul 27, 2005 4:01 pm

This I keep at home under Section 7/1. It is dated 1918 and so just made the cut off date. I bought it in 1984 from a local policeman who bought it from the officer it was issued to in WW1 who was selling it due to his old age. I was told the officer, a Major Dennison from memory, only fired six shots through it. He went to France with it and kept it when he left the army. The policeman didn't use it much so the bore is like new. I would like to shoot it again but I don't like the idea of leaving it at a range. There isn't a Section 7/3 range near me anyway.

Missed a Webley

Post by OneFreeTexan » Thu Jan 12, 2006 4:33 pm

Saw a Webley at a gun show about a year and half ago. Didn't know what it was at the time. Priced at $150. Should have gotten it. Haven'ty found one since.

Living on the "West side of the pond" means that I can keep my Webleys with me and shoot them. Managed to pick up both a cut MkVI and a MkIV (0.38) a couple of weeks ago for a song from a chap who did not want them any longer. So I took them home with me (as I have a C&R) and they are now resting quietly with the other 6 (three Mk VI and three Mk IV). One Mk VI is an uncut commercial still in 0.455 and from around 1930 or so. Great fun when I take them all out for a day at the range. Dave_n

im not sure how it happened but i got seriously hooked on these and their enfield made cousins , ive accumulated a mkI , mkII , mkIII , mkIV , mkV , and mkVI in the weblets in 455 , and an enfield mk VI , then picked up the webley mkIV in 380 and a set of the enfields mkI ,I* ,I** , and lastly a nice albion , im looking for that illusive HAK [with little to no hope] , as stated we can and do keep these close and shoot them , ill keep the light on for any east siders visiting here who want to go shooting , these are very fine revolvers and quite interesting

ive now got the ability to add the photos -455s

Here's my 1917 Mark VI that I picked up last year. No finish left and some pitting, but the bore is like new and it is still chambered in .455 unlike many here in the US. It shoots great and I really like this one -It IS my avatar :D
