7 AM Mobile Bay. Austil Reef

I started this forum for any collecting hobby and it turned into my camera collecting and using forum. I use it mostly to keep a record of my photo adventures. Nobody but me seems to have photo adventures that visit here....but however. I have so many cameras now that I forget which is which and which ones work and which ones don't. If you have cameras and adventures you would be welcome to post here.

Are the posts to indicate where the reef is located Robert?

I took a sea related snap at the weekend, this is Craster harbour in Northumberland.

The tide is out and the rock reef near the harbour entrance is in full view.

Those posts mark the edges of the reef, as you notice, Joe. The reef consists of oyster shells and all sorts of man made rubble. It's better to anchor on the edges. Generally the down wind side is best. The ship channel in the dead center of the bay is off to the right by about a good two thirds of a mile. The reef itself is about three miles off shore from the Western bank.

Saw something unusual the trip before last. Looked like a bridge inspection. It's under that bridge you go to get to the reef in the other pictures.

Looks like a specialist vehicle/cherry picker. I wouldn't like to be in that bucket myself !
