Close Up Work

I started this forum for any collecting hobby and it turned into my camera collecting and using forum. I use it mostly to keep a record of my photo adventures. Nobody but me seems to have photo adventures that visit here....but however. I have so many cameras now that I forget which is which and which ones work and which ones don't. If you have cameras and adventures you would be welcome to post here.

Close Up Work

Post by DuncaninFrance » Wed Mar 05, 2014 4:41 pm

I have been doing some close up work in the last couple of days and am quite please with the first result.

Image

It is the seed pod from a Chinese lantern plant.

Here is the set up taken with my webcam................
Picture 24.jpg
150W Halogen lamp, Matt Black background board, black towel to stop reflected light, subject held in a watchmakers clamp. Camera on tripod. Lens; Sigma 18/200 1/5th second at f32 ISO400, Partial metering.
2 second delay using remote on shutter release to prevent camera shake.

Very professional. What do you plan to do with the photo? Your calender project, maybe?

Firstly I wanted to see if I could do it...............

Being a member of a Photographic Club here and also a Photographic Forum in the UK means that I have a need for competitive photos all the time.
I have just sent 4 entries to a Salon in Italy and I have had 9 selected for a local exhibition in June.

I am hoping to shoot   some spring flowers this weekend, just waiting for them to reach their best......

It might make the 2015 Calendar, will have to see...............
