Cameras-still and TV/video & recorders, racecar stuff

Post by spearedum » Mon Nov 30, 2009 2:12 am

Actually, I collect misc. including 'electronic news gathering (ENG)' para.. peraf... Ah stuff! like old Sony Betacam SP camcorders, Canon/Fujinon Zoom lens (fantastic glass!), view finders, Colortran's lights, Sennhouser mics, Boden tripods, portable Sony Batacam SP and oxide recorders. New, a full production outfit could cost over $100,000. It all analog, and now some 'stuff' is junked because it is not digital! I paid a paltry sum i.e. $25 for a $5000 recorder plus shipping on E-bay. I have about five full outfits from three tube cameras to 3CCD chip cameras, and now their worth as much as my C&R collection. Oh, If I had a time machine!!!!

My still cameras are similar, but my most expensive Bronca-C was about a $1k new in the 60's, and I have a Kodak 04(19) with a red leather bellows and a brass shutter.

I collect auto racing stuff but it's mostly a personal, sentimental collection of F1, Can-Am,Trans-Am, Indy car, Le Mons style prototypes, NASCAR, AAA Speedway, and the typical BS! I belong to the SCCA's Flag team, and I've flagged turns from F1 in Long Beach, CA & LosVegas, NV. NASCAR in Riverside and Ontario, CA- Indy Car in Riverside & the 2009 Indy Car race in Long Beach, etc.

I used to collect Avon bottles, but now that stinks.

I still have my Sony TC-366 reel-to-reel tape deck that I bought in 1970. I has a fault on it though, and I can't find anyone local to fix it.

Regards
Peter.

Bummer;
I have purchased many Sony 'stuff', so I have my own parts warehouse... so to speak. Out of my five or so production equipment I hope 1/2 will at least work! That's why I only buy Sony for it's adaptability.

I paint little red lights on all my cameras, to scare away any miscreants from steeling my 'stuff'. I'm also protected by Mauser, M-N, and Walther.
