Can you find this place on Google Earth?

Post by Niner » Sat Mar 13, 2010 6:35 pm

Here is an exercise if you are bored. See if you can find this place on Google Earth. First one to find it can have as a prize a CD version of the Standard Catalog of Firearms 2010.

Start with a look at Mobile Alabama. Notice the Bay and rivers that empty into it. First one to find it produce evidence that you found it.

One of the views is from Google Earth of the building from above.

Just upstream of the Dog River Bridge.
30deg. 33' 52.63" N . 88 deg. 05' 20.95" W Location of the building

Youv'e got enough rivers around there :!: Now I know a lot more about Mobile.

Eoin, that was quick. You nailed it.

You are the prize winner. I still have your address, if you haven't moved recently. I'll mail you the CD....just in case you wanted to know what thousands of guns are worth in US money..... You will probably be the only one in your neigborhood to have one of these.

Thanks mate, I'll look forward to getting it. I go exploring on Google Earth occassionally, particularly if I'm reading a book about some place foreign, like the next State; although I shouldn't say that as my youngest son is at school in Brisbane, Queensland.

Got it in today's mail. It's very interesting and I've already got up to page 40, only some 1,461 pages to go :D

Thanks again, and if anyone asks me what a gun is worth I'll be able to say "I'll check my records and let you know"

Glad you find it interesting. I would have never used it since I have the actual book.
