ITS HERE!

I just got back from Bordeaux after a day at Vinexpo and here it is in all its glory

The barrel says ar 41 and it has an 'eagle on wheels' stamped on the breech and barrel. Initial inspection is favorable but will report in more detail later.

Who's a happy Duncan then

Soon as I can get my hands on some factory ammo!

Post by DuncaninFrance » Thu Jun 21, 2007 2:33 am

Don't think I can get any in Bordeaux so will have to order it in the post. I wasn't going to get any till it ACTUALLY arrived

Will probably order some from ESP - about 42€ for 20, that's about A$66.56!

I also want to strip it down and check it over.

By the way. The barrel mark ar is from Mauser Werke AG, Berlin-Borsigwalde and it has little Nazi emblems all over it. I am pretty sure that the wood and bolt are from different weapons but they all bear the same number now.

An initial check shows that the Cleaning Rod and 2 Trigger Guard locking screws are missing so have got to chase up the seller for those.

Onwards and upwards!

He says that the whole batch are the same but he is expecting a shipment of rods and screws (plus other bits) in July so perhaps I will get them then. Will be chasing it up anyway.

Box of 20 - 50€, thats about £33.50 or about $67

Am just waiting now for the official paperwork from the Prefecture in Bordeaux so I can take it out to play.

Am going to strip it down tomorrow and take some pics.

You didn't go and get the special vampire killer silver bullet box, did you?

Those are some expensive bullets for sure.
