War Office Trainer

Probably the most popular caliber firearm in most of the world. Many of us have more than one. They also are very collectible and still cheap to shoot.

War Office Trainer

Post by joseyclosey » Sun Aug 28, 2005 2:54 pm

Heres some pics of my Rifle, Minature, .22, War Office Pattern.

In August 1905 an official requirement was confirmed for a minature rifle for issue to theCadet Corps, and also suitable for the use of civilian rifle clubs. The basic design of the rifle was completed at Enfield, and by February 1906 the new trainer was approved for production by London Small Arms and Birmingham Small Arms.

Mine is L.S.A. 1906, s.n. 61, so is an early example.
