Ammo for no8 trainer

Probably the most popular caliber firearm in most of the world. Many of us have more than one. They also are very collectible and still cheap to shoot.

Ammo for no8 trainer

Post by smlemk111 » Tue Oct 04, 2005 1:18 pm

Hi I have a no8 trainer and was wondering if anyone here has had any experience using different kinds of ammo in one as it effects acuracy. I know that I could probably use some Eley or other target ammo and get exelent results but what cheap ammo works best in one. Thanks Alan Abramson

Hi smlemk111, a warm welcome to you, enjoy the forums :D

I have been trying different brands of cheaper ammo in my various .22 trainers, here are the results with my no. 8 at 12metres.

These groups were fired without using any benchrests( apart from my elbows) and are not very scientific i know, but i hope they are of interest to you.

Value .22 match. Dont think this is available in USA, but i was told this is repackaged Eley ammo, unless any of the Brits here know different???

Mine really likes the lesser expensive Wolf match target.
Enfield, anything else is just a rifle.
