Portable.22 Target Frame

Thought that I'd put this in here as it's designed for use with the 'kinder' .22; one .30 or .303 in the wrong place... :(

The frame folds and is easily portable and was made from old motor mower handles and a few other bits off the mowers.

The pics speak for themselves.

This is the cam-lock for the mower handle and the locking plates needed to be welded at different angles to get a more or less 90 deg. frame.

Image

Erected and with a target in place, the cardboard backing is a standard size (sort of) that we use at the local ranges.
The aluminum bit holding the trget at the bottom was the spacer/nameplate on one mower

A lick of paint and a more substantial top clip.

So, down to the shed and get out those old mower bits :D :D

I'm going to set the other handle up with the fitments to take a target as well, then if a stray shot does some damage I'll be able to continue.*

* of course, I'm not going to hit the frame.

I got hit with a sudden burst of 'Genius Creatorum' as I looked at this chair which was destined for the tip.

which progressed to

and

resulting in (after a quick spray with a $2 can of Graffiti Special).

The complete stand, before the paint.

Was going to take both to the range on Sunday (to receive the adulation of my peers  ) but other things came up; my wife wished to attend a nursing seminar at Guyra (nearby town) and as she's my resident nurse, well!

I bought one of these http://www.amazon.com/dp/B000077CQ0/ref ... B000077CQ0 cut 1 1/2 " as it was a bit high , made a top from 3/4" ply , with a batton screwed to the underside to clamp in the jaws works well , I was thinking of removing the horizontal bar and putting an X shaped brace made of tubing for extra rigidity , but at the moment its good as is .
