1953 Hungarian M52 sniper rifle

Post by Miller Tyme » Mon Aug 22, 2016 6:51 pm

Been on a bit of a roll lately with Hungarian Mosin's, but this one is with out a doubt the prettiest of them. It's a 1953 Hungarian M52 sniper rifle that looks like it just came off the production line. The stock is perfect, and the bluing would rival modern sporting rifles. The rifle is all numbers matching and the scope, well that is the best part, it is a Hungarian scope, mount, and base. Snipers like this don't come along to often and I am glad I was able to acquire it for my collection.

P.S. a Special Thanks goes out to Brandon Wright for pointing out this auction for me.

I can see the number match on the scope. The rifle does look unissued and as new as can be. Do you think the rifle was ever fired for accuracy and zeroed with the scope like the old WWII war rifles were said to be? It didn't come with any "proof" targets did it?

Hard to say Robert, the bore looks like it has been shot, but the bolt head is spotless. I do agree it looks like it never was issued out. The best part was the price, it was posted on Gunbroker but labeled wrong or it might have sold for double what it went for.
