Filled another hole in my run of 1936 Mosin Nagant's with this difficult to find training rifle. It is a mix of Tula and Izhevsk ( both pre & post 1928) parts and has a beautiful bore, not what I would have expected from a training rifle.

Mosins, probably 150-160, the number has stayed pretty static Duncan as I sell off some lesser collectable Mosins and reinvest the funds (plus some extra ) to aquire others.

Here is some more info of Soviet trainers and the Yy mark.

Being a "training rifle" is it a .22 caliber?

Do they differ from a standard infantry rifle in any way, or are they "training rifles" because they
were designated, stamped and only used as training rifles ??

Most where just standard infantry rifles but some a had there receiver drill so as not to be used with live ammo. Some of those in 1941 had the holes rewelded to put back in use due to the shortage of infantry weapons.
