Joined a local range and went there today to put my new SVT-40 through its paces...

I was quite pleased !!

These are my first 10 rounds... at 100 yards, standing, using iron sights only !!

Looking good Lalunette. I've shot a SVT before but don't have one. As I remember it was pretty sweet shooting. Somehow, never did see one for sale when I had some mad money to buy one.

I snagged mine for $199 when Lever Arms in British Columbia was running a special.

I ended buying two... one for me and for my son who is in the Air Force and loves guns as much as I do.

Lookin' good

$199 is a deal. I can't even remember the last time I saw one for sale at any price from the usual sources.

Did a quick look online. looks like in the US they are asking about four times what you paid for one of them now days.

Yes, there is definitely a link to Québec...

I live in Manitoba but my ancestors are from France, passed through New France and ended up here.

My family still speaks French and my lovely wife is from Québec.

I was back in "the home country" (aka France) in 2011 while honeymooning. We also visited The Netherlands where I lived for a year back in '83 as an exchange student. I still speak Dutch (so, so) and keep close ties with my host family and the friends I made there !!

I work as the French Language Services coordinator for the biggest government department in the province and my background is in translation.

Merci pour ton invitation au concours de tir... je vais voir ce que je peux obtenir comme résultats. :D

Thank you for your invitation to the shoting contest, I will see what results I can obtain.

I live in Blaye, about 50km North of Bordeaux. Been here since 2002 and CANNOT get my head round the language.............I speak enough to stay out of jail

Anyway, send me a PM with your e.mail address and I will register you and send you your targets. At the end of the day it's just a fun shoot.

Additionally, 3 or 4 of us chat every Sunday on Skype at about 20:00 hrs UK time so if you want to put a voice to a face, send Niner your Skype details and he will add you into the call.
