I have one of these http://www.atlanticfirearms.com/compone ... l?Itemid=0 on order. It looks like a lot of fun and besides, I need something to keep my FAL company in the safe.

While I was waiting for the C308 to restock I ran across a deal on a Kimber 82 heavy barrel that was too good to pass up so that pretty much does it for my rifle budget for the foreseeable future. That coupled with the fact that my right shoulder just won't survive too many more beatings from high power rifles.

Besides, I am having way too much fun sitting in my front yard dinging 6, 8, and 10 inch steel plates with .22's and reduced power .45 colt and 45 acp rounds in my SR1911, Blackhawk, & Henry levergun. An 11 pound spring and 3.5gn loads make my SR1911 way more fun to shoot.

I am way beyond the point in my life where I feel the need to impress anyone by shooting the biggest and baddest. I have even got some .312 cast bullets on the way so I can put a few rounds down range with my #4's & #5.

I have pretty much kept to AR's and below on the recoil scale for the last 4 years. My M1, 03, FAL, #5, etc have taken up permanent residence in the long term storage safe.

That C308 does look like a jackhammer when that guy in the video shoots it as fast as he can pull the trigger. Probably wouldn't be that noticeable a kick if fired slower and more deliberately and minding the cost of each round fired and with an actual point of aim connected to a hoped for point of impact. Neat looking rifle and for the money not an exorbitant price either. Might make a good big game gun for those who hunt big game.

My dealer called me last week saying that he had located one and was I still interested. I decided to pass mainly because I am running out of safe space and I already have enough rifles that never see the light of day as it is. I have an FAL that hasn't been fired in 2 1/2 years and besides I am knee deep in building a .308 AR right now.

We are all having a blast shooting .22's and .17HMR at 10" steel plates at 100 yards and dinging steel plates at 25 & 50 yards with my 20" Henry lever gun and 7.5" ruger blackhawk in .45 colt. Even my 4-12 year old grand kids are having fun with my little Henry .22 carbine.
