Looks like an HSF only meeting was Captain Mainwaring there?

Very far from it! After the first 6 months ( when we got most of our kit )we could deal with any TA unit and a lot of others too. NOBODY EVER got into a KP we were guarding and when we played enemy there were quite a few red faces around.

Dads Army we were christened but Dads Army we were NOT!

I ran into 10 Para HSF coy on ex once, seemed happiest having a brew! Must havehad a high proportion of ex regs by their reasonable attitudes!

We had a high proportion of ex regs in our lot, most had seen service as far apart as Aden to NI.

Heres a very staged shot taken on one of our exercises for the local rag.

There are a few faces there I recognize, maybe we should start an HSF slot so we don't bore the others

This is or first CO, Mick Hawley on Ex. Brave Defender at Hull Docks, Sept 85. Yes, he was a midget!!

You will also note that his rifle has no BFA. Being an officer he only carried it, he didn't shoot it. (I seem to think we only had 4 BFA's per platoon anyway then!!)

Another prize, YorkSam 1991. I am 2nd from the left. Our secret weapon, is the one on the right getting his medal. Nicknamed ARKLE he could outrun a speeding bullet. Other teams tried to keep up with him and got to the firing point knackered!!
