Beretta Garand?

A lady friend of mine is selling her late fathers collection. I went to her home and looked at them today. There was a M1 Garand , Danish marked on the reciever, however the reciever is not marked on the right side as a Breda made. Instead it is marked on the right side, below the woodline with a PB over D6528201. Many parts, trigger group, reciever and gas block are marked PB. The barrel is marked B.Sid 1954 with a crown over PB.
Is this a Beretta made Garand? Some of the parts, like the bolt are marked BMB, which I understand is a Breda mark.

Any info would be appreciated, as this rifle will be sold soon.

Those I have seen are very nice. Those I have seen were made for the Danes, and have receiver heel markings like this:

A lot of Italian Garands were converted to or built originally in 7.62x51.

The serial# is earlier than yours PB1857. Most parts are marked PB with a few found to be marked BMB. The barrel has a crown over PB stamp. Is this a Beretta barrel?

Beretta did all the developmental work on manufacturing the M1 Garand for the Italian Army, and for Export. Manufacture was undertaken jointly by Pietro Beretta and Breda Meccanica Bresciana, the latter in their Rome Plant.
The Contract for Denmark was also a Joint supply one. Of course, parts were sourced from both manufacturers, and possibly mixed after delivery by Danish armourers.

PB also did conversions of both its own Garands and US-made Garands into BM59s for the Italian Army, as well as making wholly new BM59 recievers...I have a New Reciver Moroccan BM59 ( Serial MO xxxxx) that was converted back to Semi-Auto, and fitted with an "AA" marked Garand Stock in Morocco ( Augusta Arsenal, 1962 refurb of Garands being given to Morocco as Mil. Aid by the US)

PB also supplied Morocco, Nigeria and Indonesia, firstly with Garands, and later with BM59s and Variations.
Finally all the Tooling for Garands and BM59s were sold to Indonesia (Pindad); the US maker, Springfield Armory Inc, despite its "adverts" only got a batch of spares which Indonesia did not want.... Also, most of the prototypes for the Garand & BM59 conversions ended up in Indonesia ( private corrispondence from a friend with "visiting rights" to Pindad.).

BM59s were still in Evidence in the Timor Independance struggle ( 1975-1999) and during the factional fighting at Independance (aided by the Indonesians)...as were other Beretta products (PB AR70/90, FN CAL, and PB M12 SMG).
