Just bought a Webley
SOLD AS;
Webley Royal Irish Constable of the Egyptian police.
Revolver 6 shots, single and double action in 476 caliber Webley.
This is not one of the many copies English, Belgian or American but an authentically stamped
Webley weapon.
Marking WEBLEY P. & SON LONDON & BIRMINGHAM, and on top of the carcass.
As an indication the revolver is 24 cm long.
Flawless operation
Very good scratch, good barrel.
Some black spots on the butt pads.
A powerful and robust weapon: a safe bet.
Easy to procure ammunition from the company h & c.
Not to mention that it is possible to draw the 11.73 of the French revolver with this weapon
(the opposite is not true)
Information translated from the French original sales description.

Duncan,
I'm officially jealous! Those older big-bore Webleys just don't show up where I am.
Here is about as close as I can come.... (a Belgie rip-off)
44.C.F.W. = 44 Winchester Center Fire (aka 44 WCF or 44/40)

I think it means you can shoot the French round in the Webley, but not vice-versa...
