1943 COLT 1911A1
Normaly I am not a pistol guy, love my rifles more.
But I had the strange idea to get me a .45 pistol, and liking service rifles, I wantet a 1911 US service pistol.
Lookes at dealers and gunshows, expensive, worn out etc.
But than a real nice Colt made in 1943 was offered to me:

Everything is correct, only downside is a rough barrel.
But ist still shoots good:

Nice one. They must be harder to get in Deutschland than here in the US. (I lived in Germany for three years-loved it !)
I love my 1941 Colt:

Maybe 15 or so years ago a greater number of new WW2 1911A1 pistols came into Germany.
Now and than one shows up, like this one.
But they are by far not as common as Lugers here.
On the last gunshow there wehre maybe 10 or so M191A1, but Lugers were countless(and pricy!!!!!!!!!) evev C96 are plentyfull(but even pricier!!!!!)
Pilgrim, is yours a rebuilt?
Hammer looks more like the one from a Ithaca or Remington Rand????

Good looking holster. Whilst looking for my Webley, I came across a guy who offered me a Colt Government Model 1911 maufactured in 1918. He said it was in grade one plus condition with 98% bluing. I was really interested in it, until he said he needed £2450 for it. I nearly had heart failure!!!!!
