There is another choice that might be considered before buying one of these. There are some war time P38's with German war time marks coming out of a Russian rearsenal for $70 more. The War time P38's have steel frames too, which the P1's don't. However, the lastest offering that I'm seeing has at least one forced match serial number which drops them from the all matching grab bag P38's by $150 or so. Par for the course for the Ruskies on the reassembly with mismatched parts and then renumber the odd parts. This is from SOG.

Received my Aim P1 this week. Looks like it's never been used, no holster wear, no primer ring on the breech face.

Looks like it was made in 1980. Probably better made than many late production war P38's.
