OBSERVATIONS:-

Quite a heavy recoil and bearing in mind that I could not get a clear sight because of my glasses I am quite pleased with the results.

Intend to reduce the load to 3.10 & 3.0 grammes for the next 20 loads and to wear slightly thicker clothing!

Should get a foresight adjustment tool from a friend this week (made to order) and possibly an aperture rear sight which I am sure will improve the grouping.

Will post photos when they arrive.

Not too bad Duncan, a bit of fettling and you'll be on course. It might take a bit of trial and error, but you'll soon work up a decent load. Those Mausers can kick a bit, especiallly if you're wearing light clothing. My 03A3 is the same and now I wear a lot of padding. The last time I fired it with no padding I swear I could hear the pins in my shoulder rattling!!!!!!!

WELL HERE IS THE FORESIGHT ADJUSTER TOOL

Post by DuncaninFrance » Tue Jul 10, 2007 2:30 pm

Made from the same design as one I saw for a Mosin a short while ago by a friend of mine who told me that he 'found it' inside a piece of metal he discovered in his workshop. Wish I could make things that well in metal.

Just needs a polish with some wire wool and perhaps another dip in the Bluing liquid.
