OK A.J. you asked for this one!

Post by KevinP In UK » Wed Jul 14, 2004 4:46 pm

Hi All,

Well I am feeling a little bit down after this afternoons little jaunt, then getting worked up with Adam over the ruination of the best 200 yard range at Bisley.<!--EZCODE EMOTICON START >: --><img src=http://www.ezboard.com/images/emoticons/mad.gif ALT=">:">;

The on;ly saving grace was that i also got to look at a really beautiful BSA Mk5 International:D; , and I do mean beautiful<!--EZCODE EMOTICON START :eek --><img src=http://www.ezboard.com/images/emoticons/eek.gif ALT=":eek">; in fact although it's over priced<!--EZCODE EMOTICON START : --><img src=http://www.ezboard.com/images/emoticons/ohwell.gif ALT=":">; I have never seen one in a condition like this, it was virtually flawless like new, deep bluing unspoilt woodwork, complete with handstop and sights and about the prices that are asked in the US for lesser models I think you will find.

Price being asked, it's a commision sale so the owner has set the price which even the shop says is a bit high even considering the condition. price is £250 ($437:50 US) I was sorely tempted I can tell you but it's over priced, Oh did I say that?

So I am sitting here with a nice glass of barcadi and coke , iced of course and trying not to think of buying more guns<!--EZCODE EMOTICON START : --><img src=http://www.ezboard.com/images/emoticons/ohwell.gif ALT=":">;

It's not working of course, I am even thinking of moving on a couple, what with the prices of powder here I doubt I can afford to shoot them<!--EZCODE EMOTICON START :( --><img src=http://www.ezboard.com/images/emoticons/frown.gif ALT=":(">; Now another .22R/F would be cheap to feed<!--EZCODE EMOTICON START :p --><img src=http://www.ezboard.com/images/emoticons/tongue.gif ALT=":p">;

Told you they were fairly common, not quite in this condition though and not usually at that price. I know of another quite local which is £125 and I thought that a bit steep and No I have not examined that one either YET!;)

<p>Best Regards. KP

Kevin forget the angst and just buy it. :D;

Hell £250 is nothing now a days and it does sound like a one off so the seller can call the price. <!--EZCODE EMOTICON START >: --><img src=http://www.ezboard.com/images/emoticons/mad.gif ALT=">:">;

Think of the savings in powder and you'll have it paid for in no time.<!--EZCODE EMOTICON START :b --><img src=http://www.ezboard.com/images/emoticons/tongue.gif ALT=":b">;

Then we can all enjoy the pictures and your happy, coo-ing posts.:D;

Hi Adam,

You know you can go off people you know<!--EZCODE EMOTICON START :o --><img src=http://www.ezboard.com/images/emoticons/embarassed.gif ALT=":o">;

I will actually have the money as just about the right sum is winging it's way back in a cheque from a deal that fell through. It was posted yesterday but knowing how slow our post is it won't get here till next week<!--EZCODE EMOTICON START >: --><img src=http://www.ezboard.com/images/emoticons/mad.gif ALT=">:">; if it arrives in the Morning I will collapse from the shock...... Nurse,, Nurse!!!!!!!!:loco:;

Yes it was rather nice, but then so as the Schmidt-Rubin K-11 I saw sunday at Bisley, whilst not quite as new looking it was blinking close.<!--EZCODE EMOTICON START :eek --><img src=http://www.ezboard.com/images/emoticons/eek.gif ALT=":eek">;

I was actually looking for a BSA Hunter rifle in excellent condition, .222 Rem if possible but I can always do a one for one;) so if condition is right I will swap the slot. However a new inter would fit into the BSA Collection rather nicely along wiht the almost new CF2 7x57, Oh help!!!!!!

Adam £250 is an awful lot if you don't have it and are overdrawn!<!--EZCODE EMOTICON START :( --><img src=http://www.ezboard.com/images/emoticons/frown.gif ALT=":(">;

<p>Best Regards. KP

Well Kevin, I see that the exchange rate has shifted a bit in the favor of we lowly provincials. When I was over there at the beginning of June it was $1.9999 to the pound. Now that would be $500 USD plus or minus a few inconsequential cents.

I do regret that I might have caused you to venture out into the world of firearms which, it seems, has totally upset your equlibrium to the extent that you have taken to the bottle to drown your woes. I do think that you have a terminal case of milsurpitis. I am not a licensed practioner of the psychiatric profession, but I will sleep in a Holiday Inn Express next week. My prescription for you is to make the next one a double, then go make the guy an offer that is a bit more reasonable, buy the damned thing, and stop the snivelling.

Speaking of needing a drink. I just got my credit card bill. I am lucky that I just got a pay raise, no matter how miniscule it was.

Buy it Kevin. Ten years from now what will 250L buy? and you'll still have the International. Note the "L" above, no pound sign. !!!
