A littel OT: old Margolin target pistol
Ok, it is not a military weapon and it is still in production, but this one is pretty old and in real good shape too:
The .22lr variant with compensator is not often to be found, normaly the compensator as used on the .22short version MZU.
All the littel gimmicks in the box are there, spare parts, additional weights to clamp on the compensator, handrest, screwdriver and brass cleaning rod.
Pistol is all matching, even the spare magazine.
Tomorrow I will try it at the 25m range.

VOSTOK .22 I owned one like that back in the late 70's. A very good pistol for the price.

And you still have the photo, Duncan? Guess it was one the government made you turn in?
When I saw the first photo I couldn't help thinking that compensator was a silencer and that was some kind of assasin special.

I had one which I handed in and made a profit on it , I trashed it and handed in the 3 parts that you needed a license for, the remainder including the box and spares went to Norway to become the home of a Vostock there!
I'd rather have a full bottle in front of me than a full frontal lobotomy!

No Robert. I was living in the Midlands - Lichfield - at the time and we decided to move back to my home county of Yorkshire. I sold all my firearms and decided to wait and see what the situation would be when we finally got a house. We sold our Midland house and then rented one in Yorkshire and looked for one to buy.Niner wrote:And you still have the photo, Duncan? Guess it was one the government made you turn in?

Once it got sorted I decided I couldn't afford to hold a FAC and a Shotgun Cert so as Clay Busting was easier and cheaper I settled on that.
I also had a Ruger Blackhawk .357 mag and a 1943 Swedish m/40 Lahti 9mm I can't find a pic of the Lahti but here is the Blackhawk

Re: A littel OT: old Margolin target pistol
My Margolin has british proofe marks, so it may well be one, that escaped the shredder on the island and made it's way to Germany, as many of the Enfields did.
I fired over 100 rounds(3 differant types of ammo) out of it on Sunday morning, only 3 holes in teh white at 25m, I fired sigle handed, both hands, slow and fast, this thing realy is good!!!
Too bad so many good guns were destroyed back than, and if we are unlucky here in Germany, it will happen here too:-(((((((((((
But till than I will enjoy shooting as much as I can, just bought a Vetterli M1878/81yesterday
