Gave the K98 a airing......
Our latest range day with the Barbican Armoury club was on the Otterburn range complex, my rifles of choice for the day were my Russian capture K98 and Steyr M95.
In the BYF 41 iwas using some old East Bloc ex mil fmj which apart from the odd misfire shot well enough for me.

The M95 was also on a diet of ex mil stuff which is quite pokey in this lightweight rifle.
My shooting companion was Serenity who, amongst his other kit, had brought along his 7X57 OVS Boer Mauser, and a fine accurate rifle it is with the Privi ammo he was useing.

More info on this rifle here..http://www.milsurpafterhours.com/bb/vie ... f=5&t=5893
Unfortunately the electronic targetry wasn't functioning so we used a variety of stick in targets at various ranges and there was a hard target (trashed AFV) at around the 800m mark for those who had brought along some tracer rounds.
So, all in all a great day out with good weather, good company and a very nice lunch provided courtesy of our Club Chairman.
Great fun.
