BOASTING

Probably the most popular caliber firearm in most of the world. Many of us have more than one. They also are very collectible and still cheap to shoot.

BOASTING

What appears to be an extra shot in the 8 ring, at 9 o'clock is printed on the targets.

These two targets were shot by me at the range today at 50 metres,

now they are not outstanding scores and I've shot better ones with aperture sights,
however these were shot with a Sportco .22 conversion of a .310 Cadet rifle.

I shot with a forward rest only. off the bench; 40 grain Federal standard velocity ammo.

Why am I so happy with these targets?

V notch rear and blade foresight, as original, NO glasses and I'm now 80 and a 1/2 years old.

There could have been a downside, I nearly forgot to put my glasses on to drive home; my licence is endorsed "spectacles" and it's an offence to drive without them although I usually drive looking over the top of them.

A good result , I don't suppose I could see the target let alone hit it .

Good job Eoin, I am the same as Dave, I couldn't see the target without glasses

Great shooting. I am like the others, without glasses I can see neither the sights or target.
With my trifocals on, I can focus on the sights or the target, but not both at the same time.......
And my score on the recent shoot will confirm that...........

Nice shooting Eoin, I struggle with the V and post sights even with my glasses on.

Hi Eoin

What is the outside diameter of the black 8 ring ? I think I have this target somewhere and may give it a go to see how I fair , but I will have to wear the specs .

Dave,

The black is 6", the 10 ring is 2".

I think that it might be this one

which I got into via
http://www.gamecalls.net/free_stuff/52_ ... rgets.html

via
http://www.xmarks.com/site/warhammer.mc ... rgets.html

there's a lot of targets in there!!

Thank's all for the kind remarks.

Further boasting.

First shoot on the Emmaville range for 2015 and the first for some time as the range had been closed for safety reasons.

Now 81 years and a few days and these were shot sans glasses and with the same rifle, sight and ammo as above.

This was a five shot "group"
DSC07210-001.JPG
10 shots, application. Would have been better a bit lower!!
DSC07211-001.JPG
A very dead fox----scored 91.

There were a pile of new Range Rules which we all had to read and sign a form that we'd read them.

Mostly sensible except the one forbidding impromptu targets such as cans etc, I queried this and was told that it was because of the danger of ricochets ; me being me I asked did this mean that it was dangerous to shoot an aluminium can that was next to the steel target frames
