wildfowling gun
Ok all you wildfowlers out there , What's your favorite wildfowling gun . Mine is my old Beretta 303 for duck and my old Browning Silver Medalist for geese
live life for today as tomorrow may never come
Different guns for different birds
I have a Francchi Alcione and a Valmet/Marocchi 412 that I use for upland pheasant. Sometimes, when hunting Ruffed Grouse in forests, I will use a 20 gauge Mossberg pump, which is homely as a mud fence, but is light and works. I am probably going to get a nice 5 pound 28 gauge for upland.
For waterfowl, I typically use a 12 gauge Mossberg 500 pump. Also homely as a mud fence, but reliable, I get away with less lead than any other shotgun I've used, the barrel can take the pounding of non-toxic shot, and it kills everything I point it at.
