Great images of the early US here......

I started this forum for any collecting hobby and it turned into my camera collecting and using forum. I use it mostly to keep a record of my photo adventures. Nobody but me seems to have photo adventures that visit here....but however. I have so many cameras now that I forget which is which and which ones work and which ones don't. If you have cameras and adventures you would be welcome to post here.

Interesting. Number 20 is downtown Mobile Alabama with a photo date of 1901. The square, Bienville Square, is still there beside the street. The building facades have changed over time. Some were torn down and replaced with much larger more modern buildings. Now days some of the older buildings have been converted back to look like a time when they were new with all the historic touches...like iron grillwork.

Most of those look, to me, to be b/w photos that were hand colored......IMHO.
Color film was uncommon and poor quality until the 1930s I think.
But still cool photos...... :D

Read under the photo at the link. You're right. They were B&W and colorized.

Yup, that's what happens when you don't read the fine print and just start looking at the photos........
