Bore viewers

Things a soldier would carry other than firearms, ammo, or uniforms. Meaning equipment such as ammo pouches, bayonets, holsters, oil cans, cleaning equipment, etc.

Bore viewers

Post by joseyclosey » Sat Jul 02, 2005 1:07 pm

Lost these pix on the old site, so thought i would post them again. As it says in the title they are brass bore viewers which seem to be getting a bit thin on the ground over here in the U.K. I still use these occasionally when viewing the bores on my Martini`s.

Joe

The viewer with the handle and RFI stamp was for theVickers MG.

We were just admiring one of those Wednesday at the range!Fellow said he got it at a Flea Market for 2 dollars. He narrowly escaped a thumping!

But seriously,it would seem to be a very handy little tool.

The only marking visible on his was a faint broad arrow.

Brass bore mirrors are for the .303 Enfield rifle ...

They are for the .303 both versions. As stated the ones with the handles were originally for the Vickers machinegun and the ones without are for the .303 Enfield rifle but the handle one also works properly in the .303 Enfield rifle.

I have several and I really like them , I use them for other rifles also ....
