A M1 and a M14 would be on my wish list if it were possible. You have some really tasty kit Tom.

Good photos of a a nice looking rifle. That leather sling would be the right one for the early war versions too. Later production rifles came with cloth slings as I understand it. My Garand was made, judging by serial number, in September or October of 1943 and came to me with the cloth sling. Mine is a Civilian Marksmanship purchase and a return from Danish lend lease.

A week from today I will drive to Belgium, there's an expat Brit who has a huge Militaria shop near Mons. There you can get all the original accessories to make the rifle complete

Two lovely rifles!!!! Always fancied one, but alas will never own one due to our gun laws.

Sounds good Duncan!!!! I could tell her indoors that I was going on a wine tasting trip!!! Or better still, we could take a trip over to Robert, and if we ask very nicely, he may let us put a few rounds through his rifle!!!

I've owned two M1s in the past.
Now-a-days we can't own one, evil semi-auto and all that.
First one that I had was given to me by a Police Inspector.

No problem!
It's called Arsenal Military Sales and the shop is located in Rouveroy. Here's the link to their website:
