More stock work

This was an old Spanish 1916 stock. It had a number of black spots on it that looked like something was dripped on it. Had so sand way down to remove them.
This spot is where the lower barrel band was located. I am blending it together into an unbroken fore end.
It is going to become a Mannlicher length stock for my 17" barrel small ring 7x57.
I am going to fill in the area where the barrel band retainer was with wood removed from the end of the stock where the nose cap will be.
I have found that if I take belt sander belts and cut them to fit my sanding block they last way longer than paper backed sandpaper does.
Here are some of the spots I was talking about.
I don't know if I can do it but I am trying to keep the rifle in the 6 pound neighborhood.
