Mr DD, Thanks so much for the suggestion for the snider brass. I have found some CBC with the dreaded berdan primers, pre bottlenecked and annealed for a buck a round. I guess I am splitting hairs as I don't shoot old snidey that much but in the process of looking around today I found the .254 berda...

Thanks for the reply. The size for my brass is .254. I am shooting a .577 Snider musketoon using the brazillian brass. Brass, OK, primers bad. I have a RCBS decapping tool and have learned to recap and it is not as bad as most "colonial" folks would describe. As soon as I get the kinks out...

any source on GOOD berdan primers
I am looking for berdan primers for my Snider.....anyone have any sources? I have some brazillian primers that are prone to puncture. I am told that the Moison Nagant 762X54 will work....(true?) HELP

I agree with dpm, if you want the smoke, smell, and roar of black powder, shoot a muzzle loader. I do and love it. Guess what, no cases to clean. When I shoot my erzatz Sharps 45-70, a little 2400 does well and cleans up well. It is a cop out but the lack of grease cookies, card wads, cow filler app...

TMCA shoot 30 July 05
