Re: Anybody who used to be a member years ago still out there?

Only one brigade of the 5th went to Vietnam. We were on loan to the Marine Corps and came under command and control of the 3rd Marine Division. We mainly operated along the DMZ from Khe Sahn to the South China Sea. The ARVN's took care of the southern parts of Quang Tri Province. I was in a support ...

Re: Anybody who used to be a member years ago still out there?

I'm still kicking at age 76.

Re: Thinking about a change

I confess to not being here as much as I should since I retired.
It is a wonderful site, and I mainly read when I am here, since my knowledge is not up to the level of some of the guys.

Re: EZboards which turned into Yuku has become Tapatalk

I have been a member over at Parallax Bill's for years, as well as one or two other of the Yuku firearm forums.
Bill's is barely hanging on, but the other (C&R Collectors, for one) are as much as dead.

Re: Most produced firearms.

I have "a few" of the listed examples.
I find it interesting that the author/authors state that half of all the firearms in the world are in the hands of American citizens.
That sounds like an exagggeration.

I have not been as active as I should on a number of boards.
My post count is low because I mainly read threads.

Re: Ma Deuce

Carlos Hathcock actually did that in Vietnam. From one of the firebases over looking the DMZ could be seen an NVA base camp on the other side. An NVA soldier routinely stood guard, out in the open each day, confident he was out of range. Carlos rigged a scope on a Browning 50, and using semi auto fi...

Re: Colt goes into Chapter 11 Bankruptcy

Those reasons plus Connecticut's heavy business regulation and taxation, and the excessive labor cost. Most, if not all, of the other firearm manufacturers have left for other states. I seem to remember reading when Winchester moved out in 2006 that they hadn't had a profitable year since WWII. I li...
