Back in March I bought a Mossberg Model 500 combo from Wal Mart. It came with a 24 inch fully rifled, ported slug barrel. I first tried shooting it from sandbags and it wasn't grouping worth a hoot, 10 inches at 50 yards, regardless of what type of slug was shot in it. THen I started shooting it off...

Was thinking more along the lines of glass bedding it and free floating the barrel. Had really never heard of felt bedding, though it sounds interesting.

Thanks guys, it does have the gap between the rear sight and the barrel, so that makes it an ex-dragoon. I picked up a 1929 Tula Friday and it seems to have as many or more Izhevsk marks on it as it does Tula markings. It is still in the load development stages, as of right now it's doing about 1 1\4 inch groups at 50 yards with the load it likes best so far. Gotta do some more experimenting. I'm at this time working with 175 grain PRVI bullets, and 150 grain Sierras.

First Time posting here and I'm wondering if anybody can tell me what the marks to the left of the 24\47 on my Yugo are. Also what the mark on the butt stock is. Any help is appreciated.
