thanks for the info. Now...what is the desired method for restoring the rifle? The furniture is beat up a bit and needs attention. Its fun to shoot!

ok...finally. Sorry for being technically challanged... yes, it appears that the serial number is a replacement. at least on this one it was not scratched out over and scribbled in like I saw on a Mauser k98. the gun itself is pretty tough shape and I am hoping to restore as best as I can. I am new ...

does anyone out there know anything about Norewgian Kammer Laders? It is a breach loading gun that was revolutionary for its time...but quickly outdated when the rifle showed up.
