M-95

First off, I use a 205 gr. bullet with 35 gr's of 3031 and it's a nice load. if you went up to 45 gr's of 3031 it could be a bit stout. I shoot a lot of 200 gr. lead bullets in mine. and yes, I'm up to two rifles and seven carbines. And yes, the lower swivel is a pain in the right cheek. My thum com...

steyr M-95

I've got four or five of them and even the short barrel carbines are good shooter. I'm starting to just shoot lead bullets in mine, the're slower and dont hurt as much. If you take your bolt apart and clean it good, put it back together with luberplate(like we had for the M1 garand and M14's(you can...

SVT-40's

Hi Pit bull, Boy, is that an embarresment of riches, Four of them. That's neat. I've only seen one in the Houston area and I've got it. I paid around $700 for mine. I believe your right, they might be a little fragile, that's what I heard on the SVT forum. And I don't have a clue where I would get p...

what to buy

YOu can't go wrong with the Makarov. It's a great carry piece.(I live in texas and I do have a CHL.and I carry one) I find the Mak. very accurate. I have/or had most of the HP's and the HIgh power clones, I would get rid of the Hp and stay with the clones. I've got the 9mm FEG. and the argentina one...

Semi-automatic rifles

Hi Niner, I haven't had much of a chance to try it(the SVT-40) out against the Garand. That's what I'm trying to see. but the SVT has a scope on it and the garand is just like I it carried it 44 years ago. In other words I can't see the target very good at even fifty yards much less 100.(yea, I'm 64...

Semi-automatic rifles

Hi doc, what do you know about the Russian SVT-38/40 rifle. it's one of the neatest rifles beside a Garand that I've ever seen or had. I did Boot camp in the marines with the MI and I've picked up one a while back. (NOt CMP)Then I've picked up a very clean SVT-40. It's a very interesting rifle, it's...
