A Couple of Vetterli's

Haven't been here in a little while so figured I might do some catching up. Picked this Vetterli up with in the last year. Had to have her due to the tiger stripe in the butt stock. Bore was shiney and clean and the rifle had every thing but the cleaning rod. That problem was solved by a good friend...

As for your question about price, well it was a bit much with that sight and no cleaning rod. Is that rear sight permanent or can it be removed? Cleaning rods will run ya about $100 and are very hard to find unless you are lucky, I picked up a 69/71 with in the last year for $180 shipped. Within the...

I don't know. Been thinking about it for a long time now. I want to say no will stick with the old ones. But there just might be that one rare instance that trips me up. I do view the lined out ones as less valuable.

Re: If A 6 Turned Out To Be 9...I don't mind...

Is that dot to the left of 6/9 circle part of the stamp or just a ding? If part of the stamp do other stamps carry the same mark? If so might be a way to tell what is up or down.

Also other number stamps for canton, which way is up or down when stamped on stock?

Didn't think about the grafted pistol grip Phil. Wonder what the story is on this stock, numbers match the rifle. Could it be a replacement stock made from a M1911 stock?
