Re: Random Meaningless Pictures-Lets See Them
There is only one thing that is a real serious problem with Trump's tariff plan to bring back US manufacturing jobs like it was 1950 all over again.

bolt action Palmer 1865
Saw this in the IMA spam mail this morning. A brass case bullet firing bolt action rifle made right at the end of the Civil War. IMA wants $6999 for it. Fat chance I'd think....but interesting relic.

Re: JUST BEEN GIFTED THIS........
Note that the wood under the cutoff on mine is recessed as would a MKIII would have been. I know later refurbs would sometimes, or most times, used cutoff receivers but would have had new stocks that hid , or mostly hid, the slot.

Re: JUST BEEN GIFTED THIS........
Now that you mention Lithgow, I have one with a 1919 date on a MkIII* with the cutoff slot in place but the cutoff lever removed. It also has the F.T.R on the receiver. I had always supposed that the rifle was made as a MKIII and then at some later date F.T.R converted.

Re: JUST BEEN GIFTED THIS........
Looks like the gift has a magazine cut off... even though somewhat buggered. That would make it early WWI vintage, right?

Certainly not something that you would see everyday. As a cutaway exhibit for instructional purposes it's probably pretty rare wouldn't you think?

Lindsey Model 1863 double hammer
Saw this in the IMA spam mail. Seems like a guy invented a double shot musket for the US Civil War. Only there is only one barrel and you have to load both charges down that same barrel. Needless to say it only made it to one battle and was then tossed in the not a good idea pile. Youtube. https://w...
