Re: Personal armour
The Germans also resorted to Long puttees. True, but the characters in the photographs all seem to be wearing American style (1908?) breeches, and shirts (not German pattern) and at least two seem to carrying Small Box Respirator bags. In addition, one wears 1910 gaiters and two are holding the Ame...

Re: Portugese Mausers
Well I bit the bullet so to speak, sealed bid auction, it cost me £120 collected and I also bagged two boxes of 6.5 ammo, one was MS but the other is correct so I am happy. Now that Krank has the 8mm models cheap I may grab a couple and convert one to a sporter (definetly not the 6.5 one) and I will...

Re: Argentian modello 1891
I think they are small ring, either way Boyds website has them specially seat aside for that model so maybe its a fat barrel in a small ring and the receiver is quite slim by comparisom. I will keep it as a sporter and set aside the numbered butchered stock but I will consider restoring one day!

Re: Argentian modello 1891
Well it was delivered whilst I was out at a training session, thankfully the boss signs for all sorts! It was a long rifle with matching numbers but it has been bubbad. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v140/24626151/IMAG0129.jpg The barrel shortened a lot, the receiver D&T'd and fitted with a s...

Re: Argentian modello 1891
Its not arrived yet but when it does (poss next week) the pics will be taken! I bit the bullet and ordered the batch of Norma loaded soft point ammo that was on sale at the same place. A bit of a bargain really provided none of it is rubbish!

Portugese Mausers
I have the chance to bag a couple of the Portugese Viguero Mausers both in 6.5 x 58 and was wondering if there is any ammo anywhere or even any brass? Can it be made by Fireforming other mauser brass?

Well it should be here next week, even if its a poor sporter I will restock it and use it!
As soon as it arrives I'll take pics.
