Re: M1886 Lebel wood needed
OUCH!! 150 Euros? That's twice what I paid for the rifle! No wonder I've been having trouble finding parts.. Actually a little over 1/2 of the forestock is still there. Somebody just shortened it back to just ahead of the tubular magazine.. Didn't touch the barrel and even moved the front ba...

M1886 Lebel wood needed
1st - What would be the odds on finding wood for a M1886 Lebel? (primarily a forestock, but a buttstock would also be nice.)

Re: Next guess after the Bronica
That's probably why the side covering had been removed and replaced......Film advance lever locks up at third exposure every time. Must be a gear problem of some sort.

Re: Black guns........
deadin.......... You obviously don't think building these are a good idea, or even having this style of semi-auto rifle I was only speaking for myself. I see nothing wrong with someone else building and/or owning one. As I said, I might even be tempted to build one (and then I would also own one. ;...

Re: Black guns........
As I admitted, building one might be fun. Building a bunch of them might be a sickness. What would someone do with a couple of dozen homebuilts that they can't legally get rid of? Even if you put serial numbers on them, they're still homebuilt and can't be sold or transferred. (Unless the builder re...

Re: Black guns........
I took a look at these and came to the conclusion that making one might be a fun project, but that's about all. By the time you buy all the parts to assemble one, you really won't save all that much and you might have a can of worms when it comes to function. As for having a "untraceable" ...

Re: Something not to buy for film developing
That's the one!! I even have a couple of bulk loaders around here somewhere. (The one's where you don't need a darkbag or darkroom to load the cassettes.)

Re: Something not to buy for film developing
If you are planning to reload the cassette, you are going to have to open it anyway to get the new film attached to the spool. I used to have a bunch of cassettes that had a threaded end so they were easy to open and close. (I may still have a few around somewhere....) Another trick that sometimes w...
