Anybody have a 1909 Argentine Mauser and need ammo?
Argentine Mausers apparently used an odd 7.65x53 round that is only made by one source now days that I can find. It can be made with a modified 30.06 case and a roll it yourself cartridge as well. I know someone who was gifted some ammo of unknown condition to me and has nothing to shoot it in. If anyone is interested in more information post here or contact me by pm. He will no doubt accept offers.

The big question is.... is it new made ammo or old surplus.
New ammo, no problem.
Old surplus can be a problem......
Most old surplus is corrosive, not a big problem, just be aware.
I bought some surplus for my Argentine carbine and it turned out to be rotted on the inside.
If it is this kind, made around 1980, it's very bad and looks like this on the inside.

Peace is that brief, quiet moment in history.......... when everybody stands around reloading.

My friend...old Delta company guy... got it with a load of assorted ammo. Much of it all mixed together and of unknown age to him. No telling the quality or age.

If the ammo is good ...and if you have a 1909 Argentine Mauser you want to shoot.... it might be worth making an offer. New 7.65x53 runs $1.50 a round... plus shipping and handling.

7.65x53 used to be made and used a lot of places
The Belgians, the Turks and others used it, once upon a time.
I see Prvi Partizan, Norma, and maybe some other sources. All the 7.65x53 I have shot is either surplus or my handholds made with reformed cases. It really is not hard: you need a good lube such as Imperial, and you need a trimmer, preferably one with a drive system.
