No markings found on it BUT I cleaned the varnish off today and am looking into making a wooden insert for the scabbard. They all had one that stopped the blade rattling.

Are you going to display it? Hang it on a wall? Put it in a glass case? Something else?

Update..............
I have a friend who is an adept woodworker with all the right machins SO........

I have made two patters in Mount Card which he is going to cut for me. Initially slightly over length and then trim down to the right dims. The patterns are as long as I can cut but I have the o/a measurement.
The card inserts work perfectly and stop any rattle. They also help to grip the blade to stop it from falling out when the scabbard is inverted.
Should get the wood cut this weekend.
