Tool kit blues

Post by speared um » Sat Aug 02, 2003 12:18 pm

I got a tool kit with my 91/30 and I went gang busters and remover all my MN stocks and cleaned off the cosmo from the interior. When I was wiping off the grease from my M39, I thought I felt something fall out. I couldn't find anything, but later I did a wider search and I found a shim. Dahh! I can't even blaim that on a senior moment! <!--EZCODE EMOTICON START :o --><img src=http://www.ezboard.com/images/emoticons/embarassed.gif ALT=":o">;

I think the shim goes in the right side of the 'recoil lug' well, but it has an 'angled' side and I don't know if the angle faces front or back.

Would anybody know, as it fits both ways?

How can I test the shim at the range?
