Cleaning equipment you can't live without

When I first started off collecting milsurps I had the usual Hoppe's gun cleaning kit. After breaking a few rods, I got a one piece Dewey rod which is like the difference between day and night. Then after breaking a few of the plastic tips I got a brass tip that doesn't break. That was a big plus too. Then after acquiring a collection of things I needed to clean my weapons I got a big plastic tupperware bucket with a lid to keep all the stuff in. What do you consider the basic things needed to keep your firearms cleaned that the newest among us may not have thought of?
